INBIT has been the coordinator of a series of European and Greek R&D projects or has participated in many others as partner. Among them we can distinguish the BEAM I & II, the EUROMEDIES, the MELETI projects under the Health Care Telematics EU Program, as well as the BIOTECHNET I & II projects in Greece. Through these projects a unique experience and expertise has been gained and a wide range of products have been created.
In 1999, INBIT undertook on behalf of the Greek NHS the responsibility to address the Year 2000 problem for medical equipment. From this work that was completed very successfully, the National Inventory of Medical Equipment was also created with approximately 50 000 items that were then installed in 128 public Greek hospitals.
In 2001, began the collaboration with IKA (Greek Social Insurance Institute), through which a Medical Equipment Management System was designed, implemented and operated.
In 2003, in collaboration with the RHS (Regional Health System) of Western Greece, the innovative project "Pilot Medical Device Alert System for hospitals of Western Greece", partly financed by the European Union, was implemented.
From 2002 until today, in collaboration with several Regional Health Systems across the country, INBIT implemented projects on inventories, investment planning, writing specifications, management of medical equipment andprocedures for medical equipment monitoring and safety.
INBIT is an independent, non-profit organization founded in 1991, with revenues resulting from provided services and from R&D projects. The Institute Chairman and employees are not involved in companies manufacturing and supplying medical equipment based in Greece or abroad, nor have economic transactions with them.
