Application\u00a0of health technology assessment (HTA) prior to healthcare financing decisions can improve the allocative efficiency\u00a0of scarce resources. However, few CEE countries have a clear roadmap for HTA implementation. Examples from high income\u00a0countries may not be directly relevant, as CEE countries cannot allocate so much financial and human resources\u00a0for substantiating policy decisions with evidence.\u00a0Our objective was to describe the main HTA implementation scenarios in CEE countries and summarize the most important\u00a0questions related to capacity building, financing HTA research, process and organizational structure for HTA, standardization\u00a0of HTA methodology, use of local data, scope of mandatory HTA, decision criteria, and international\u00a0collaboration in HTA.\u00a0Although HTA implementation strategies from the region can be relevant examples for other CEE countries with similar\u00a0cultural environment and economic status, HTA roadmaps are not still fully transferable without taking into account countryspecific\u00a0aspects, such as country size, gross domestic product per capita, major social values, public health priorities, and\u00a0fragmentation of healthcare financing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","categories":[19],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-225280","hta_library","type-hta_library","status-publish","hentry","category-other"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.inbit.gr\/el\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/hta_library\/225280","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.inbit.gr\/el\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/hta_library"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.inbit.gr\/el\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/hta_library"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.inbit.gr\/el\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=225280"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.inbit.gr\/el\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=225280"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.inbit.gr\/el\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=225280"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
