Clinically, GP may be associated with severe nausea,\u00a0vomiting, and malnutrition. The principal diagnostic test for delayed gastric empting is\u00a0nuclear scintigraphy. GP and delayed gastric emptying may accompany and also\u00a0mimic other diseases or in some cases may be asymptomatic, thus the difficulty in\u00a0diagnosing, treating, and monitoring this disorder.\u00a0Gastric electrical stimulation (GES) is considered a treatment option for patients with\u00a0severe symptoms associated with GP. The Enterra TM Therapy system is a GES system\u00a0that is implanted subcutaneously in the abdominal wall and provides high-frequency,\u00a0low-energy stimulation to the muscle wall of the stomach via a pair of electrodes\/leads.\u00a0The treatment is reversible. The Enterra TM Therapy system may be turned off by the\u00a0physician at any time or may be removed. The Enterra TM Therapy system had licensure\u00a0approval from Health Canada as a Class 3 device for the treatment of chronic\u00a0intractable nausea and vomiting.\u00a0The aim of this paper is to present the current evidence on the efficacy\/effectiveness,\u00a0safety, and efficiency of GES (Enterra TM Therapy system) used for the treatment of\u00a0patients with severe GP.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","categories":[17],"tags":[58],"class_list":["post-225528","hta_library","type-hta_library","status-publish","hentry","category-full-reports","tag-gastroparesis"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.inbit.gr\/el\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/hta_library\/225528","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.inbit.gr\/el\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/hta_library"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.inbit.gr\/el\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/hta_library"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.inbit.gr\/el\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=225528"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.inbit.gr\/el\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=225528"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.inbit.gr\/el\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=225528"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
