INBIT Shares WHO Call for Experts in Medical Device Prequalification

As a WHO Collaborating Centre for Medical Equipment Management and Assessment , the Institute of Biomedical Technology (INBIT) is pleased to share a recent Call for Experts launched by the World Health Organization (WHO) to establish a roster of consultants supporting the Prequalification Assessment of Medical Devices .

This initiative, coordinated by WHO’s Prequalification Unit, aims to strengthen the evaluation of medical devices through expert review of manufacturers’ technical documentation, as part of the expanding prequalification activities planned from 2026 onwards.

Selected experts will contribute remotely under consultancy contracts of up to 11 months, supporting WHO in ensuring the quality, safety, and performance of medical technologies used globally.

INBIT encourages qualified professionals within the biomedical and clinical engineering community to consider this opportunity. Experts with experience in:

  • medical device regulatory affairs,
  • quality and conformity assessment, and
  • technical dossier review
