The World Health Organization (WHO) is inviting medical device professionals, healthcare technology experts, and other stakeholders to contribute to the continuous improvement of MeDevIS — the Medical Device Information System.
Through a public user survey and a series of individual interviews, WHO aims to better understand how users currently access, use, and perceive the information available through MeDevIS. The initiative will also gather feedback on existing challenges, user needs, and opportunities to strengthen the platform.
Participate in the MeDevIS Public Survey
All medical device stakeholders are encouraged to participate in the public survey and share it widely with relevant colleagues, organisations, and professional networks.
The survey consists of 35 questions and focuses on:
- the accessibility, quality, clarity, completeness, and usefulness of the data and content available through MeDevIS;
- users’ overall experience of the platform;
- challenges encountered when accessing or using the system; and
- suggestions for future improvements.
All responses will remain anonymous and will be used solely to support the continued improvement of MeDevIS, ensuring that the platform better meets users’ needs and expectations while contributing to improved access to medical devices.

Nomination of Interview Participants
In addition to the survey, WHO intends to conduct interviews to gain deeper insights into users’ experiences, needs, and expectations regarding MeDevIS.
WHO is therefore seeking nominations of individuals who regularly use the platform and would be willing to participate in a 30–45 minute interview.
The interviews will help ensure that the feedback collected reflects a broad range of perspectives across geographical regions and professional groups.

The questionnaire has been developed in close collaboration with the Intelligent Health Technologies for Health and Wellbeing Laboratory (IHT Lab) at Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE), and in consultation with the WHO Strategic and Technical Advisory Group on Medical Devices.
