Biomedical Engineering is a rapidly evolving field at the intersection of engineering, medicine, life sciences, and digital health. As healthcare systems increasingly rely on advanced technologies — from medical devices, diagnostics and imaging to rehabilitation, biomaterials, artificial intelligence and connected health — high-quality education is essential for preparing the next generation of biomedical engineers.

INBIT has developed in collaboration with the European Alliance of Medical and Biological Engineering and Science (EAMBES) this searchable database to map undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in Biomedical Engineering and closely related fields across the EHEA. The database currently includes more than 550 study programmes and allows users to explore them by country, degree level, language, city, duration and areas of interest.

This resource aims to support students, educators, universities, professional societies and policy stakeholders by providing a clearer overview of the Biomedical Engineering education landscape in the EHEA.
