INBIT's contribution

Bringing Biomedical Engineering Innovation into Healthcare

INBIT is a non-profit organisation that supports and develops the field of Biomedical Technology in Greece, with emphasis on technology management and quality. In HOSP4All, INBIT acts as the main organisation responsible for the implementation of information and communication activities, linking the project with the healthcare technology community and promoting its results and wider impact. Through this project, INBIT demonstrates how biomedical and clinical engineering can contribute directly to accessible, inclusive and patient-centred healthcare environments.

Norwegian Association of the Blind and Partially Sighted (NABP)

"The system significantly enhances autonomy and safety, offering real-time information on locations and directions, without requiring the assistance of guides or hospital personnel."

Final HOSP4All Pilot Evaluation, June 2025

Panhellenic Association of the Blind – Western Greece

"The system represents a good practice for improving accessibility and can significantly facilitate the daily lives of visually impaired people. We recommend its extension throughout the University Hospital of Patras and to other healthcare facilities."

Beyond navigation

Asset tracking

Locate medical equipment, tools or people.

SOS alerts

Staff or patients can activate a tag and the system identifies the precise location.

Safety zones

Support for vulnerable patients (e.g. dementia) with alerts when leaving predefined areas.

Movement history

Monitor routes in real time or retrospectively for safety and management.

The HOSP4All infrastructure creates a foundation for wider hospital safety, patient-management and medical-equipment-management applications.

Towards universal design

HOSP4All is a starting point. Technology can remove important barriers, but truly inclusive healthcare requires the integrated design of spaces, services and infrastructure around the needs of all users.
