A special reunion and the ESBME 2025 symposium marked 35 years of the Erasmus Biomedical Engineering Programme at the University of Patras.

The Erasmus Postgraduate Programme in Biomedical Engineering celebrated its 35th anniversary with a special reunion and the revival of the European Symposium on Biomedical Engineering (ESBME 2025) in Patras, Greece. The three-day event brought together alumni, faculty, students, and professionals from across Europe to reflect on the programme’s long history, share scientific insights, and strengthen international collaboration.
Organised by the University of Patras and INBIT and endorsed by leading biomedical engineering bodies, the event featured keynote speeches, panel discussions, oral and poster presentations, and networking sessions focused on the impact of medical technology and education in the field. Attendees also had the opportunity to reconnect through photo and video galleries capturing the event’s highlights.
Prof. Nicolas Pallikarakis, Emeritus Professor at the University of Patras and Chair of the reunion and symposium, expressed gratitude to all participants for making the celebration memorable and fostering future opportunities for collaboration.
