The Institute of Biomedical Technology (INBIT) has been formally recognized by the Health Technology Assessment Division (HTAD) of the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE) for its significant contributions to the field of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) of Medical Devices.
The award acknowledges the relevant efforts and sustained contributions of INBIT, and in particular Aris Dermitzakis and Nicolas Pallikarakis, in advancing HTAD activities and strengthening the role of Biomedical Engineering in HTA at an international level.
The recognition was presented during the HTAD activities held in Adelaide, Australia, on October 1st, 2025, by Murilo Conto, Chair of IFMBE–HTAD.
This distinction highlights INBIT’s ongoing commitment to:
- advancing scientific and methodological rigor in HTA,
- supporting evidence-based decision-making for medical technologies, and
- contributing to international collaboration and capacity building in Biomedical Engineering and Health Technology Assessment.
INBIT remains dedicated to supporting global initiatives that enhance the safe, effective, and sustainable adoption of medical technologies in healthcare systems worldwide.
