The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced a Call for Consultant to support its ongoing work on the transition from mercury-containing medical devices to mercury-free alternatives, in line with the Minamata Convention on Mercury.
The consultancy will contribute to global efforts aimed at reducing the use of mercury in healthcare by supporting the development and implementation of strategies that promote safer, sustainable, and environmentally responsible medical technologies.
The phase-out of mercury-containing medical devices is an important step towards protecting both public health and the environment. Through this initiative, WHO continues to support countries in implementing the objectives of the Minamata Convention while encouraging the adoption of safe and effective mercury-free alternatives.
