INBIT at MEDICON 2023

The 16th Mediterranean Conference on Medical and Biological Engineering and Computing (MEDICON) and the 5th International Conference on Medical and Biological engineering (CMBEBIH) took place from September 14th to 16th, 2023, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Both conferences were supported by IFMBE, EAMBES and the ABSPIE lab of the University of Warwick.

The central emphasis of both conferences revolved around underscoring the crucial contributions of biomedical engineering and healthcare technology in tackling a wide array of healthcare and global challenges. The event convened attendees from across the globe, giving them the opportunity to engage in the exchange of ideas and experiences and cultivate partnerships within the realm of digitalization.

Aris Dermitzakis, the CEO of Greece’s Institute of Biomedical Technology (INBIT), chaired the session titled “Medical Physics, Biomedical Imaging, and Radiation Protection” and additionally delivered a presentation on “3D Printed Breast Phantoms Materials for X-ray Imaging Techniques”. He was also one of the presenters of “IFMBE – CED: Trends and Opportunities in Clinical Engineering in Mediterranean Europe”.

Kallirroi Stavrianou, member of the Board of Directors of INBIT also took part in the event presenting the Global Clinical Engineering Journal.
